The British Council invites applications from interested technology developers, designers, arts and culture festival managers / directors , branding and marketing professionals, and business analysts for participation in its Culture Shift Project, themed ‘ICT for Festivals Development.’
About the project
Culture Shift is a partnership-led, British Council-managed competitive innovation fund.
It will provide an opportunity for emerging creatives to bypass what are often the most inhibiting factors in the progression of good ideas – access to seed funding and expert mentor ship.
Selected festival managers will work in collaboration with technology developers and designers, and business experts to create web and mobile solutions for use in festivals, and then compete for seed finance to realize the projects.
Winning idea will receive Naira Equivalent of £5,000 and two others £2,000 each.

Job Title: Programmers
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
As a DACL programmer, you will:
•Work with DACL staff (e.g, senior programmers, support staff, product manager) to plan program code enhancements and changes.
•Create, test and maintain DACL program code.
•Create labels and reports using Crystal Reports
•Provide assistance to DACL technical support staff when they are unable to resolve a program, SQL database, or IT issue by themselves.
•Occasionally contact customers as may be needed to clarify the intent of a new feature or resolve a problem.
•Provide general programming assistance to other DACL programmers/projects as may be needed.
Requirements:
The programmer must have 3+ years experience with:
•Visual Basic .NET and Visual Basic 6, including the use of program “classes” and creation of DLL’s
•SQL Server 2005 databases, SQL, ADO.NET
•Windows 2003/2008 Server and Windows XP/Vista
