Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a large international FMCG group to a Head of
Finance for its regional operations in Africa with focus on West and Central Africa.
Job description
The Head of Finance will be responsible for overall financial management and efficient management of the accounting, reporting, treasury, insurance and taxation, functions of the Company
The position is based in Lagos, Nigeria
Responsibilities
- Provide and/or oversee the global administration of the company‘s financial activities.
- Responsible for budget and plans realization, update and follow-ups
- Participate actively in the strategic planning process of the business and initiate and control the process for the preparation of budgets forecast
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, integrity and reliability of all financial information and meeting the deadlines.
- Develop Optimized Capital Structures (Debt/Equity Ratios) for the various businesses and develop plans to achieve
- Conducting risk assessments for, and the development of, annual internal audit plans;
- Perform and occasionally lead audits/ special reviews with respect to large and complex operations to meet project and individual accountabilities.
- Prepare risk based audits /reviews.
- Plan and execute assignments in accordance with the organisations Policy on Internal Audit
- Responsible for Bank accounts and Cash management, Tax & Capex procedures.
- Ensure appropriate financial risk, accounting and auditing policies and procedures of the Company.
- Handling overall Taxation matters, Statutory Audits, Internal Audit, Company Law &other
- Oversee the treasury function to ensure cash flow for the business is secured. Act to minimize the financial risk profile of the Company by ensuring that interest and foreign currency risks are well managed and in line with the Group standards.
- Chartered Accountant ICAN. ACCA etc.
- Minimum of 10 years experience on a similar role.
- Experience in Audit and other Central finance unit (Treasury and Tax, Financial Accounting, Planning etc).
- Innovative and influencing skills
- Proactive and strong performer who consistently achieves set goals
- Must have a clear understanding of company business environment and risks
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Good peoples leadership skills and coaching skills
- Good computer skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Fluency in English Language
