Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning Jobs

Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Plateau State invites applications from suitably qualified surveyors to occupy the position below:

Job Title: Surveyor General of Plateau State.

Qualification:
Candidates must possess a basic requisite qualification and a minimum of 2 years post qualification as a registered/licensed Surveyor. Cap 425 of the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria established Surveyor Council of Nigeria SURCON,

Duties of the Surveyor General:

Taking charge of the general administration of the department.
Advising the State Government on the formulation. execution and review of policies on Surveying, mapping and related matters,
Advising the State Boundary Commission and National Joint Boundary Commission on technical matters
Liaising with the statutory, regulatory and professional bodies relevant to the functions of the department
Signing of the Title Deed prints for the certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O).
Determine who are legally Surveyors (through registration) sub section 4(a) of the Decree,
Maintain a register of persons entitled to practice the survey profession in the State sub section of the Decree,
Regulate and control he practice of the profession-sub section 4 (d) of the Decree.
Maintain discipline within the profession subsection 4(e) of the Decree,

Requirements
i. Indigenous candidates with requisite qualification and experience will have added advantage.
ii. Computer literacy is essential.
iii. Appointment is an contract for the period of 2 years subject to renewal, in line with the Civil Service Rule.
